Baby Allen Update

Doctor says Allen looks good. Ultrasound showed about a 2 lb 2oz 14 1/2 in. long baby boy. That was the good news.

However, I lost another 2 pounds, making a total of 8 pounds lost in 5 weeks. The good thing is I am still 20+ pounds over what I was prior to the pregnancy.

Diabetes screening showed that I have gestational diabetes. All of this is so frustrating. I go back tomorrow for another round of tests and appointments to see what we need to do to control the diabetes. Of course in controlling the diabetes, we also have to work on me GAINING weight instead of losing.

Yesterday I ended up with some contractions. I know what to do to stop them, having BTDT with all my previous pregnancies. So lay down, feet up, drink water until you want to throw up. It worked. After about an hour the contractions stopped. Todays exam showed the cervix is more than 50% effaced and is showing early signs of dialation. Not measurable dialation so that part is good.

Well thats about it. Although there are some complications, everything is looking ok with the baby for now. As the doctor said today, lets get through the next 8 weeks with some weight gain, no contractions, and get us a healthy bouncing baby boy.
